Good Hotels in Krakow, Poland. A Lodging Guide.

Krakow’s hotels fall into every category and price bracket. At the high end of the market one may choose between the five-star cosmopolitan premises of well-known international chains on the one hand and posh hotels in the city’s Old Town historic center on the other. All offer excellent service, and the former top it with abundant parking space for motorists and ample conference facilities for business visitors as well as such amenities as indoor swimming pools or even a casino; while the latter grant the easiest access to Krakow’s attractions and unforgettable ambience. Actually, many a Krakow hotel in the Old Town area, also inexpensive ones, operate in buildings of considerable historical and/or architectural value, some were once aristocratic palaces, and a few pride themselves on their centuries-old hotelier traditions.

The city's new hotels.

In recent years new hotel facilities in Krakow opened almost by the month, in that number operations of established international brands. And several more are under construction now. Also converting old tenement buildings into cozy hotels in Krakow's historic center is increasingly popular enterprise among local businessmen. At the same time existing Krakow hotels keep on upgrading fast.

Quality hotels in Krakow.

Poland’s hotels are rated with stars, from one-star lodgings (cheap) to five-star accommodations (the highest standard). In order to get its due of stars every establishment should meet criteria specified for each class. Yet the Polish hotel categories don’t necessary fit those in your country, e.g. some five-star Krakow hotels can boast indoor swimming pools and some lack that luxury. Also, there are guest houses or hostels that advertise themselves as hotels although they haven't been licensed as such and don't comply with Poland's hotel standards.

Well-know international hotel chains keep their Krakow operations up to the mark, no matter if they run the establishments directly or entrust the job to Polish franchise holders. At the same time local hoteliers in Krakow often best the competition.

Krakow’s hotel rates.

Prices of fairly comfortable double rooms start in the Krakow hotels at an equivalent of about fifty euro per night. Mid-range double-room rates range from 70 euro to 100 euro. The upmarket hotels in Krakow charge up to 250 euro for a double room.

Booking a hotel room in Krakow.

It’s important to book hotel in Krakow possibly early, notably when one is looking for lodging in the high season or on major holidays. It’s advisable to make a reservation either directly or through a competent travel agency. There are also numerous independent online booking operations but some provide services of dubious quality.

Looking for a cheaper alternative to a hotel, then why not try a Krakow hostel
